St James Academy: Your PTFA
The PTFA at St James Academy is here for you, parents, grandparents, carers and all of the children who attend St James. Our aim is to raise funds that enhance our pupils’ learning whilst providing fun events that promote the value of our school community and the wider community of our village.
This year the PTFA has raised over £5000. We have used the money to fund out of school visits, workshops to enhance pupils’ learning and classroom resources. Events have included school discos, the grow-a-pound scheme and our very successful Summer and Christmas Fairs.
Getting involved in PTFA events is a great way of getting to know other parents and the school staff. It strengthens bonds, gives the children a sense of belonging, and makes St James Academy feel like a special place.
How you can help...
The PTFA Committee meet once every half term, usually straight after school. Meetings are very informal and only last around one hour. You can even bring the children to play while we talk. We welcome any parents or friends of the school to join us to discuss upcoming events and put any new ideas forward.
Even if you can’t attend meetings there are still lots of ways you can help.
Get involved by:
- Donating cakes for cake sales
- Volunteering to man a stall at an event
- Donating raffle prizes
- Helping out at a school disco
- Using easyfundraising to make online purchases (see below)
- Checking if your employer offers match funding – Some employers will match any charity funds raised by their employees so we could double our donations!
